New High-Tech Knowledge Hub Opens in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a major boost to the city’s educational infrastructure, MLAs and top government officials inaugurated the state-of-the-art Dishom Guru Memorial Library on Straight Mile Road in Sakchi on Wednesday. The facility aims to serve as a premier knowledge hub for students, competitive exam aspirants, and book lovers.

MLAs Mangal Kalindi and Purnima Sahu, alongside former Development Commissioner Arun Kumar Singh and Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, led the inauguration ceremony before a large gathering of citizens.

A Multi-Level Academic Powerhouse

The massive 22,500-square-foot complex offers world-class facilities across four floors:

• First Floor: Main library, reading room, retail shops, and restrooms.

• Second & Third Floors: A District Science Centre-cum-Digital Library and additional reading spaces.

• Fourth Floor: A commercial auditorium for events.

The building features modern amenities including two elevators, dual staircases, full air-conditioning, and advanced fire safety systems.

Empowering Aspirants and Rural Students

MLA Mangal Kalindi described the library as a transformative center that will bridge the gap for both rural and urban students. Adding to this, MLA Purnima Sahu emphasized that the center will provide high-quality books and study materials free of cost to underprivileged students preparing for competitive exams.

“This library establishes a new focal point for academic study in Jamshedpur,” Sahu remarked during her address.

Future-Ready Infrastructure

Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi revealed that the library currently houses 8,000 books covering history, geography, economics, and science. The administration plans to expand this collection to 30,000 volumes in the coming years.

Beyond books, the facility integrates lifestyle and tech needs, featuring:

• A high-speed Digital Library

• An on-site bookstore and Coffee Shop

• An ATM and ample parking space

• A dedicated management team to oversee smooth daily operations

Former Development Commissioner Arun Kumar Singh lauded the district administration’s initiative, calling it a commendable step toward empowering the youth with global resources.
