Jamshedpur: The year 2015 has proved to be a boon for railway passengers of Kolhan. After a new weekly superfast express train between Santragachi and Anand Vihar (near New Delhi) that�passes through Tatanagar and a passenger train between Tatanagar and Chakulia, the South Eastern Railway (SER) on Thursday introduced a long distance train for Bangalore.
The Tatanagar-Baiyyappanahali (near Bangalore)� Express, a weekly train was flagged off online ( through video-conferencing facility) by the Union railway minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu (from Bangalore).
Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Baran Mahto and BJP MLAs Saryu Roy and Menka Sardar were present on the occasion. Senior railway officials of South Eastern Railway (SER)� including the assistant general manager D Kamilla, divisional railway manager of Kharagpur Gautam Banerjee and senior divisional commercial manager of Chakradharpur Ashok Agarwal also graced the function at Tatanagar.
The train has one� AC two-tier, three AC-three tier, seven sleeper class bogies , six second class coaches and two luggage vans.�
Mahto expressed his satisfaction over introduction of this express train between Tatanagar and Bagalore which would immensely help the people of Tatanagar and adjoining areas. Mahto also said that he would help the railways in every possible way for the betterment of the people.
Office-bearers of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( SCCI) and the Chhotanagpur Passenger Association, who were present at the railway station during the flagging off ceremony were all praise for the railways.
” We are really very happy today. Our demand for a direct train for Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad is fulfilled. Apart from patients and students, it will also benefit the traders� community. There are many traders who travel to these destinations for business purposes regularly,” explained Suresh Sonthalia, president of SCCI.
