Jamshedpur, Feb 10: Passengers at Tatanagar station will now have the convenience of making digital payments at the station’s restrooms and parking spaces. Both locations have been equipped with QR codes for digital payments, ensuring that passengers were not deprived of any facility in case they did not have cash in hand. It was reported that there was an order from the Railway Board to promote digital payments. Both departments assessed the availability of digital payment facilities at Tatanagar station on Thursday and Friday. While digital payment facilities were already available at the station’s restaurants and stalls, passengers were also making digital payments by scanning QR codes in pantry cars. Meanwhile, the railway was preparing to collect fines or additional ticket charges digitally on trains soon. Improvements have begun in the Handheld Terminal (HHT) machines.
