DIG Kolhan inspects site of firing over gangwar at Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Kolhan DIG Rajiv Ranjan Singh on Saturday visited the spot where the firing due to gangwar had taken place in Sonari a day before and took information about the incident from the police officials. 
The DIG also went inside the room of the builder Phani Bhusan Mahato where the criminals had shot at their rival Sonu alias Siyal and saw the marks of the bullet on the wall of the house and saw the CCTV footages of the entire incident and took information about the crime from the builder. 
The senior police official directed the thana official to ensure that all the culprits are brought to book at the earliest. 

Later addressing media, DIG said that a complaint case has been lodged at the Sonari thana and criminals would be arrested soon. He also said that if all the criminals are not arrested within 24 hours then they would seek arrest warrant from the Jamshedpur court against the identified criminals. He also said that based on talks with the persons who have been detained by the police the rivalry between the two groups is more than 10 years old and is a fallout of battle for supremacy between two groups of youths in the two nearby urban slums. 
Sources informed that till Saturday evening, police were not able to nab any of the criminals involved in the shootout on Friday. 
Significantly, criminals on an SUV dashed against a criminal on bike identified as Sonu and after they fell on the ground and started escaping for their life they started firing on them. The criminal Sonu out of desperation entered the house of the builder and the criminals too entered the house of the builder while chasing Sonu and fired at him inside the house leading to him getting injured on the back. 
While Sonu accomplice Roushan Mahato managed to flee from the spot. The criminals escaped after locals started gathering outside the house. 
After the incident, accomplice of Sonu attacked Dhananjay Das, a distant relative of Ravidas with knife in Sonari. 
Significantly, injured Sonu is a member of the Hete gang and is out on bail from jail only last month and was involved in the firing on Ravidas in 2019 and the Ravidas group had tried to take revenge for that firing by attacking Sonu.
