Ranchi, July 30: There is something about football that people in the East grow up with and Mahendra Singh Dhoni is no different from that league.
Playing match for Silli Sports Club he scored a goal to secure 2-1 win. His team mate and former Dy. CM of Jharkhand Sudesh Mahato scored the second goal.
Dhoni’s passion for football is not an unknown fact and his love for the game goes way beyond the days when he first picked up a cricket bat.
In his younger days, Dhoni used to be a very good goal-keeper and just like his wicket-keeping skills, his agility and reflexes turned out to be a real asset for his team members as he kept the forwards away from scoring any.
The Indian skipper, who is taking rest for over a month now, found his old love back that had put the former India Test captain to test in terms of fitness and endurance to play 90 minutes when he participated in a football match involving Silli Football Academy at Silli Stadium near Ranchi.
MSD had been playing badminton and exercising regularly to stay fit but couldn’t hold himself back at the prospect of playing football when he got an invite from his old friend Sudesh to play in the match.
