Dhanbad, W Singhbhum get respite from heatwave

Ranchi, April 28: There is currently an outbreak of heat wave in most of the districts of Jharkhand.

But, amidst this heatwave, there is good news for two districts of Jharkhand that drops of relief will rain there in some time.

Meteorological Department has issued a warning of light to moderate rainfall in two districts.

Abhishek Anand, head of the Ranchi-based weather center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), has said that within a few hours, there may be light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in the coal city Dhanbad and West Singhbhum district. During this period, there is also a possibility of thunderstorm at some places.

The wind speed can be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

The Met office has cautioned masses that If the weather turns bad, take shelter in a safe place. Do not stand under any tree or electric pole. Farmers have also been asked not to go to their fields during the rains.

Heatwave is going on in 20 out of 24 districts of Jharkhand. The highest temperature of Dhanbad is 39.7 degrees centigrade, while the maximum temperature of Chaibasa, the district headquarters of West Singhbhum, has been recorded at 43.6 degrees centigrade. The maximum temperature of Chaibasa is 5.3 degrees above normal.
