Heat wave alert as temperatures soars to 42 degrees Celsius in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 28: Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas were bracing for a prolonged heat wave, with the Meteorological Department issuing alerts for five consecutive days. Residents will have to endure scorching temperatures and intense sunlight, leading to deserted streets and stifling conditions.

On Sunday, Seraikela recorded a blistering 42.3 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur and Chaibasa saw temperatures reaching 42 and 42.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. The Meteorological Center in Ranchi issued a yellow alert, forecasting a further increase in temperatures by two to three degrees.

With clear skies and dry weather expected until May 1, the Meteorological Department advised residents to avoid going out unnecessarily and to stay hydrated by drinking water regularly to combat the extreme heat and heat wave conditions.
