Jamshedpur: The Director General of Police (DGP), Ajay Kumar Singh, conducted a review of the updated status of the 1984 riot case through a video conference at the police headquarters on Friday. During the review, it was observed that a significant number of cases related to the 1984 riots have been resolved, while some cases are still pending. The DGP instructed the concerned authorities to prioritize the disposal of pending cases.
The video conference included the participation of various officials, including the Inspector General of Provision Prabhat Kumar, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad, as well as Superintendents of Police (SPs) from Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Garhwa, Palamu, Giridih, Koderma districts, and the Railway Dhanbad. The initiative reflects the ongoing efforts to address and conclude legal matters related to the 1984 riots in the region.
