Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu responds to IT Raid: Cash recovery linked to liquor firms, not party funds

Ranchi: In the aftermath of a recent Income Tax raid on the premises of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu, the politician has addressed the media concerning the recovery of cash amounting to crores. Speaking to news agency ANI, Sahu expressed sorrow over the ongoing events and acknowledged that the seized money belonged to his liquor firms.

He emphasized that the funds in question were not associated with the Congress party or any other political entity. Stressing that the recovered cash was connected to his family and related businesses, Sahu assured that a detailed account of the finances would be provided to the income tax authorities.

The Income Tax team conducted raids across various locations linked to Dheeraj Sahu, uncovering significant amounts of cash and jewelry. The BJP, in response, has criticized not only the Congress MP but also the Hemant Soren government, leading to strong demonstrations by BJP MLAs outside the Jharkhand Assembly on the first day of the winter session.
