Noamundi, July 14: With the start of holy month of Saawan devotees have also started the preparations to worship Lord Shiva.
The holy month started on Sunday, July 13. The temple door was opened at 3 am. On the first Monday of Saawan which is considered as very important for Hindus thousands of devotees from Jharkhand and Oddisa thronged Murga Mahadev Temple situated at Jharkhand-Oddisa border and 4 km from Novamundi market.
Devotees in large numbers offered prayers and holy water before Lord Shiva. Panoramic view of hillocks covered with green shawl trees and several fountains make up for a beautiful sight.
The devotees around one million in numbers come to offer their devotion to Murga Mahadev in the month of Saawan.
On this auspicious occasion, the devotees of Lord Shiva in saffron uniform irrespective of cast, creed and colour march on the red soil land with bare foot to reach Murga Mahadev and chant the holy name of lord Shiva throughout the journey.
The temple is said to be one of the powerful divine place where the pilgrims get their internal desire fulfilled.
