Jamshedpur, Oct 14: Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar today met Zilla Parishad members of East Singhbhum to discuss various issues related to development projects and related issues.
The meeting, Coffee with Collector held at the DC�s office, saw discussions on cleaning of Chhat banks, road construction, drinking water provision, revamping lakes and ponds, lagaan receipts, net connectivity, availability of teachers, deputation of doctors, facilitating admission of BPL students to private schools were some of the major issues discussed at the meeting.
Zilla Parishad president Bulu Rani Singh and vice president Raj Kumar Singh along with all district Parishad members were present at the meeting.
DC Amit Kumar assured Parshad members that timely and appropriate action would be taken to ensure smoothness on the areas of concern pointed out by them.
While appreciating the move, �Coffee with Collector�, the Parishad members complained that they were not given information of actions and decisions by the district administration. The DC assured that henceforth all such information would be provided to them regularly vide email or Whatsapp. He directed the DPRO to do the needful in the matter.
Amit Kumar asked the Parishad members to keep the district administration informed of the peoples� problems that they noted in the course of their area visits.
He also asked them to make the people aware of the various beneficial projects like pension scheme, ration cards, Indira Awas Yojna and other such schemes especially to those who have not yet benefited from these endeavors. Other matters discussed included the construction of Kasturba Vidyalaya building at Musabani, hand over of dak bungalows, police patrolling and construction of toilets and check dams.
The DC observed that the Panchayati Raj Act had provided Parishad members with sufficient empowerment and as such, asked them to act in constructive and responsible in a balanced manner as their share of responsibilities in administration.
