Jamshedpur, Oct. 14:Jagriti Yatra dedicated to the 350th anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singhji will reach Jamshedpur via Ghatsila on October 20. The yatra will be accorded a warm welcomed at Dimna Road and Mango Gurudwara.
The devotees there will be offered snacks and tea. From there the jagriti yatra in the form of nagar kirtan will traverse through Mango Bridge to Old court area through Sakchi roundabout will reach Sakchi Gurudwara premises. The Sakchi Gurudwara committee has made adequate arrangements to welcome the yatra.
During a meeting held at CGPC (Central Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee) office on Thursday, Pradhan Inderjeet Singh informed that the jagriti yatra will be out for city tour on October 21 were all Gurudwara committee members, devotees along with school children along with their bands will be present.
Inderjeet further said that the yatra will make a night halt at Sakchi Gurudwara premises on October 20 and the next morning the yatra will leave Sakchi Gurudwara for Refugee Colony. The yatra will pass through the main road and it will be open for devotees darshan.
The yatra will further move towards Baridih, Golmuri chowk, Tinplate, Telco, Namda basti, Manifit and will reach Azad Basti Gurudwara.
The afternoon langar will be arranged by the management committee. The yatra will leave Azad Basti Gurudwara at 2 pm and will visit Burmamines, Station Road Jugsalai, Bistupur, Ramdas Bhatta Gurudwara and will reach Sonari Gurudwara at 8 pm and will make a night halt.
Residents will bid adieu to Jagriti Yatra from SGPC office on October 22 at 9 pm. Inderjeet Singh and all other present at the meeting appealed the Sikh population to close their establishment or take leave and participate in the Jagriti yatra.
Inderjeet Singh went on to say that during the yatra, Surjeet Singh of Manifit has been provided with the duty of traffic control along with Central Sikh Naujawan Sabha�s Pradhan Satinder Singh Romi and his team will provide the service. At the Jagriti Yatra Sikh community males will participate wearing blue or orange turbans whiles ladies have been told take blue or orange dupattas. To make the yatra successful, a delegation of CGPS will meet DC and SSP and would seek their support.
Present at the meeting were Pradhan of Ramgarhia Sabha Jasbir Singh, Surinder Singh of Mango, Baldev Singh, Satnam Singh Sidhu, Ajit Singh Gambhir, Satnam Singh Gambhir, Gurdayal Singh, Jaswant Singh Bhoma, Pal Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Karam Singh, Dalbir Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Mohan Singh Bhatia, Rajendra Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Hardayal Singh, Raju Marwah, Surjeet Singh, Karnail Singh and others.
Significantly, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flagged off Jagriti Yatra from Takht Harmandir Sahib on Thursday, October 13, ahead of Prakash Parv to commemorate Guru Gobind Singh�s 350th birth anniversary early next year.
The yatra � comprising two buses, two mini-buses and a car � will pass through 16 states over the next two months. It will reach Punjab in the third week of November.
Nitish said: �The state government has limited resources at its disposal, but it is committed to serving the devotees expected to attend Prakash Parv. Most of the pilgrims are likely to converge on Patna between December 30 and January 10.�
�The yatra�s objective is to propagate the Guru�s philosophy,� said Sajinder Singh, general secretary of Takht Harmandir Sahib (Patna Sahib).
