Dengue prevention measures intensified in Jamshedpur

Anti-larva spraying and fines imposed

Jamshedpur, Sep 5: To combat dengue, anti-larva spraying has been carried out across several areas of the Municipal Corporation. Additional Municipal Commissioner has mandated daily anti-larva spraying and emphasized the need to prevent water logging around homes. Residents are urged to avoid water accumulation in tyres, tanks, and other containers.

Recent inspections in Uliidih, Azad Basti, Sankusai Road No. 1, Teachers Colony, Jawahar Nagar, and Zakir Nagar led to a fine of Rs. 10,500 for water logging violations. Fogging and anti-larva spraying were also conducted in Old Purulia Road and Dimna Road areas. The Additional Municipal Commissioner instructed that anti-larva spraying and fogging be carried out daily, with a roster in place. The inspection team, including city manager Kunal Kumar Singh and Doctor Arshad, was present during the operations.

Dengue awareness program at Workers College

An awareness program on dengue was held at Workers College, with Additional City Commissioner Ranjit Lohra in attendance. The event, organized by Doctor Arshad from the Health Department, included participation from the college principal, professors, teachers, and students. The program aimed to educate attendees on dengue prevention and the importance of maintaining hygiene to prevent the spread of the disease.
