Jamshedpur, July 16 : The risk of dangerous and deadly disease like dengue has increased in Jamshedpur.
Patients can also die due to lack of platelets in dengue. Every day suspected patients of dengue are coming to different hospitals of the city. Since January till now 38 positive cases have come.
In the month of June and July only 22 positive cases have been reported. The reports of six patients have come positive on Friday. A two and a half year old child is also included in this. He is being treated at Dr. Abhishek Child Care, Sakchi, while four patients are being treated at Brahmanand Hospital and one patient at Mercy Hospital, Baridih.
Four patients were undergoing treatment at Tata Main Hospital, while six patients including two suspected patients are under treatment. A suspected dengue patient has been found in Telco area, who is being treated at Tata Motors Hospital.
The team of the surveillance department has sent the patient’s blood sample for examination. Most of the patients are coming to the hospital with complaints of high fever and body pain. Last year in 2022, 32 positive cases of dengue were found.
East Singhbhum civil surgeon Dr Jujhar Majhi said that people need to be aware of dengue. The team is doing door-to-door survey. Dengue fever symptoms include high fever, body rash, headache, muscle and joint pain. In some severe cases, bleeding and shock occur, which can be life-threatening.
Dengue is caused by dengue virus, which is spread by the bite of female mosquito Aedes aegypti. The specialty of this mosquito is that it bites only during the day. It bites two to three hours after sunrise and two to three hours before sunset. At this time we need to pay attention to prevention from mosquito bites.
After a dengue mosquito bites a person, the dengue virus remains in the human blood for two to seven days.
Prevention from mosquitoes is the only prevention from dengue. It’s outbreak starts from the rainy days. Preventing mosquitoes is the only prevention of dengue. For this, people should use mosquito repellent and also use coil to drive away mosquitoes. Dengue mosquitoes thrive in stagnant water. Dengue disease is caused by the bite of these mosquitoes. To avoid this, it is necessary to clean the frozen water in tanks, drains and pots continuously.
After getting infected, mild symptoms of dengue start appearing within four to seven days. These symptoms include high fever (104°), headache, joint pain, pain behind the eyes, redness in the eyes, sore throat, chest pain, nervousness and restlessness, vomiting, muscle, bone and Symptoms include pain in the joints, lack of platelets in the body, bleeding from the nose, red rashes on the skin, swelling of the glands, etc.
To prevent dengue spreading mosquitoes we should not allow water to accumulate. Take out the water from the coolers in the houses and change it in a week. Sprinkle insecticides in the house, use mosquito nets while sleeping, use mosquito repellents. Keep tanks and utensils covered, keep the body covered, so that mosquitoes do not bite. Avoid using strong smelling perfumes, as mosquitoes are attracted to any kind of strong smell.
What is the home remedy to prevent dengue, drink more coconut water, boil basil leaves in water and then drink this water, make fenugreek leaves tea and drink it, grind papaya leaves or boil them in water and drink, 3-4 Mix a spoonful of beetroot juice in a glass of carrot juice and drink it.
The civil surgeon said that if there is even a slight doubt of dengue, go to the hospital. He said that in view of the possibility of mosquito larvae, the health department is conducting anti-larvae and awareness campaign in urban and rural areas for the prevention of dengue in the district and the work of fogging has been started by the municipal bodies.
