Jamshedpur, Mar 4: Local residents under the aegis of Gramin Vikash Sangarsh Samity staged a demonstration near the gate of Tata Power Jojobera plant on the issue of employment to local unemployed on Thursday.
Earlier, a rally was organised by the Samity and a memorandum was submitted to the company management represented by company’s HR head Amit Agarwal. The memorandum demanded the company management to arrange for employment of local unemployed as the company has expansion plans but locals are not given employment.
They also highlighted the recent directive of Jharkhand government for reservation of 70 percent of vacancies for local unemployed. The copies of the memorandum were also handed over to East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar and SDO Dhalbhum.
