Beyond Blooms: Vegetables Steal the Spotlight at Jamshedpur Flower Show

Jamshedpur: At the ongoing 35th Annual Flower Show at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, it isn’t just the floral displays catching the eye. Oversized vegetables and advanced gardening tools have emerged as major attractions for the crowds on the second day of the exhibition.

Organic Bounty at Tata Steel Foundation Stall

A significant draw this year is the Tata Steel Foundation stall, which showcases and sells fresh, organic vegetables. Grown using natural fertilizers, these premium greens—including large bottle gourds, eggplants, and kohlrabi—are being sold at a slight premium over market rates. Despite the higher price, the stall has been teeming with city residents eager to take home chemical-free produce.

Market for Gardening Gear

The exhibition also features a wide array of nursery stalls from across the country. Beyond plants, there is a massive influx of gardening equipment and fertilizers on sale, with several stalls specializing exclusively in modern gardening tools, many of which are of Chinese origin.
