Jamshedpur, Oct 7: Jharkhand State General Secretary of the Youth Congress has raised demand to suspend helmet checks in the city from Durga Puja till Chhath Puja. Rakesh Sahu on Monday has appealed to the district administration requesting them to halt helmet inspections during the festive season.
Sahu said, “During festivals like Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath people are busy with shopping, preparations and various social activities and helmet checks cause unnecessary inconvenience.”
He further added, ” Due to festive season there is an increase in public movement causing heavy traffic and the helmet checks further worsen traffic congestion.” He also mentioned that most people use two-wheelers during this period. The administration should consider the public’s convenience by temporarily suspending the checks. Sahu urged the district and police administration to take this decision so that the citizens can enjoy the festive season without unnecessary stress.
