ESS and job for job scheme at Tata Steel Jamshedpur from November 1

Jamshedpur. Tata Steel Management will start Early Separation Scheme (ESS) and Job for Job Scheme for its employees from November 1. At the same time, from January, the employees will get a hotel facility instead of a guest house at Puri. An agreement has been signed in this regard in a meeting held between the company management and the top officials of the Tata Workers’ Union.
Tata Workers’ Union Assistant Secretary Saroj Kumar Singh gave the above information. As per the scheme, all those employees who have attained the age of 40 years will be able to take the benefit of ESS. Also, if the departmental heads allow them to be released. Employees taking ESS will continue to get Basic and DA every month till the age of superannuation. According to sources, there are around 5,500 employees in Tata Steel who are above 40 years of age. Employees above 52 years of age will be able to take advantage of Job for Job. There are about 3,500 such employees. Under this, they can recommend jobs for son, daughter and son-in-law in lieu of their job. 
In the meeting, it has also been decided to increase the stipend of 319 trade apprentices of the year 2018 batch from Rs.7000 to Rs.15000 thousand per month. NCVT exam of trade apprentice of the year 2018 batch was postponed due to Covid. According to the agreement between the company management and the union, the employees will also get the arrears of the increased stipend from July 1, 2021.
