Jamshedpur, Mar 27: The installation of CCTV cameras in Tatanagar’s main yard and classification yard has become essential to curb unauthorized access and ensure the safety of railway employees. This demand was raised by Manoj Mishra, President of the Railway Employees Welfare Association, during a recent meeting of the organization.
He highlighted that railway employees work round the clock but lack adequate security arrangements. “The continuous movement of external anti-social elements in the yard poses a serious threat to the safety of railway workers. Surveillance cameras will help monitor and prevent unauthorized activities,” he stated.
Mishra further urged the railway administration and the RPF commandant to establish an additional RPF post in the classification yard to enhance security. The association decided to submit a formal memorandum to the area manager and railway commandant soon.
Several railway employees, including S.P. Biswas, Abhishek Kumar Shahi, Nagendra Prasad, K. Kumar Rao, Jitendra Rajak and Naseeruddin, participated in the meeting.
