Kalash Yatra marks Ram Navami celebrations in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, the Shri-Shri Hanuman Temple Committee of Sakchi Shahid Chowk organized a grand Kalash Yatra on Thursday evening, drawing a massive turnout of devotees.

The procession commenced from the Swarnarekha River Ghat in Sakchi and passed through key locations including Bhamashah Chowk, Sheetla Temple, Tank Road, and Sakchi main roundabout before culminating at the Shahid Chowk temple premises. The entire route was filled with devotional fervor as chants and hymns resonated in the air.

A major highlight of the procession was the vibrant tableaux depicting Lord Rama, Sita, Hanuman, and other deities, presented by artistes specially brought from Kolkata. Adding to the spectacle, ‘Naga Baba’ Vibhuti captivated the crowd with his unique feats. The procession, accompanied by rhythmic drumbeats and decorative lighting, created a festive and spiritual atmosphere throughout the city.

Eleven members of the temple committee carried sacred Kalash filled with water from the river to the temple. Devotees welcomed the procession at various points, extending greetings and blessings, making the entire event a remarkable display of devotion and unity.

The event was attended by Temple Committee president Surendra Sharma, vice president Rakesh Sahu, treasurer Ajit Sharma, general secretary Pramod Sinha, secretary Mukesh Singh, Ravi Ranjan, Santosh Mishra, Karan Kumar, Pramod Kushwaha, Dilip Shah, Sushil Kumar, Neelkanth Saw, Kamlesh Sharma, Renu Sharma, Jitendra Sharma, Bunty Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Rohit Singh and several other members and devotees.

Vice president Rakesh Sahu informed that a grand worship ceremony would be held on the morning of March 27.

In the evening, prominent social workers and representatives of various organizations will be honored with traditional angavastra and turbans. A grand Bhajan Sandhya dedicated to the Mother Goddess would also be organized on the day of immersion.

Jamshedpur: The auspicious occasion of Ram Navami was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm across the city, with prominent public figures actively participating in various religious and cultural events.


Former minister Banna Gupta and Mango Mayor Sudha Gupta attended multiple Ram Navami programmes held in different localities, including Kadma Shiv Hanuman Temple (Prakriti Vihar), Sonari Panchvati Nagar (Adarsh Nagar Phase 4), Kadma Bhatia Basti, Goswami Path , Uliyan Bajrang Akhara, Sonari Kumharpara Cinema Maidan, Khutadih Baba Akhara, Bistupur near G-Town Gurudwara, Mango Daiguttu Nai Bhawan, Pardih Shramik Ekta Bajrang Akhara Samiti, and Bagbera Colony Road No. 5, where a Sriram Katha was organized on the occasion of a temple consecration.


They also participated in Navratri rituals at Kamal Chowk, Budhram Mohalla, organized by Upkar Sangh.
Mayor Sudha Gupta visited several temples and akharas, offering prayers to Lord Ram and performing rituals dedicated to Lord Hanuman.


She highlighted that Ram Navami is not merely a festival, but a symbol of righteousness, discipline, courage, and cultural values.
She emphasized that the life of Lord Ram continues to inspire people to follow the path of truth, sacrifice, and duty.

During the celebrations, members of various akhara committees across Jamshedpur honoured the dignitaries with traditional turbans and presented ceremonial swords as a mark of respect.
The city witnessed vibrant participation from devotees, reflecting unity, devotion, and the rich cultural heritage associated with the festival.
