Jamshedpur, Dec 3: The admission process for the LLB course at Co-operative Law College, the only law college under Kolhan University, is facing significant delays, which will likely push the academic session back by about a year. The college has not yet received permission from the Bar Council of India to conduct the course for the 2024-27 academic session. Approval is expected to be granted next month, after which the admission process can begin.
As a result, the entrance exam notification is likely to be issued by February 2025, with the exam scheduled for March. The results are expected in April, and admission will be finalized by May-June. This timeline means the academic session will begin with a delay of at least one year. This marks the third consecutive year that the LLB session will experience such a delay.
The college offers a total of 120 seats for the LLB program, with admission based on an entrance exam. However, due to the repeated delays in the admission process, students at Co-operative Law College have experienced prolonged study periods, with the typical three-year LLB course taking four to five years to complete.
