Death should be celebrated as remembrance, not mourned: Kobi Guru

Jamshedpur, August 8: The 80th Mahaprayan Divas (death anniversary) of Kobi Guru Rabindranath Tagore was observed at Rabindra Kala Mandir under the aegis of Tagore Society. The President of Tagore Society, Dr HS Paul paid homage to the world poet by garlanding the life-size statue at Ravindra Bhawan.
The General Secretary of Tagore Society, Ashis Chowdhury while speaking on the occasion, said, “We are observing the 80th death anniversary of The Bard, Rabindranath. The poet had once observed that the death of a person should be celebrated as a remembrance rather than mourning for life moves on to another layer.”
The students of Tagore School of Arts also paid their respects to Kabi Guru. In the evening, a program of Rabindra Sangeet was presented under the direction of the Principal, Tagore School of Arts, Chandana Chowdhury.
