Deadly attack on BJP leader in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Dec. 8: In yet another attack on a political activist, district general secretary of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha Suraj Singh (26) was attacked by miscreants on Tuesday night. The BJP leader was found injured near the Kali mandir at Harharguttu under Bagbera police station area at around 10.15 pm.

As the news spread, the police team reached the spot. The injured was taken to TMH for treatment. Suraj was stabbed in the face with a knife. He has suffered serious injuries. His condition remains critical. The police have recovered an axe, knife and scooty near the spot of the incident.

It is suspected that the miscreants attacked Suraj with a knife on the moving scooty itself, because blood marks have been found on the scooty too. After getting information about the incident, BJP president Gunjan Yadav, Yuva Morcha District President Amit Agarwal and many leaders and relatives reached TMH.

City SP Subhash Chandra Jat reached the hospital and questioned the injured. The BJP workers have demanded the arrest of the accused from the City SP at the earliest. The injured has accused a youth named Sonu of Basti of deadly attack.

According to friends and family, there was a dispute between Sonu Singh and Suraj about three months ago. The injured Suraj’s uncle Sanjay Singh, who reached TMH, told that at 9 pm Suraj had gone to the marriage ceremony of his friend Rahul’s sister at the Ram temple in Bistupur. He was coming back home from a party. During this time he was fatally attacked. He had a dispute with some youths of the basti.
