Jamshedpur, Oct. 06: The deputy commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar today convened a meeting to review the work of the welfare department.
He sought information from the department officials on the progress of Aadhaar-seeding work as per the instructions of the state government.
He said the seeding of bank accounts of beneficiaries was must for the effective implementation of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. The head of Integrated Tribal Development Authority (ITDA) Parmeshwar Bhagat also attended the meeting.
The DC also sought updates on the distribution of bicycles and the status of undernourished children from the social welfare department officials.
He said that providing bicycles, nourishment and other benefits as planned by the state government was essential and that the Aadhaar-seeding work was to prove instrumental in conveying the benefits directly to the beneficiaries.
