Ranchi, October 6: Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma directed the Land Reforms and Revenue Department to identify and acquire land and transfer to Railways to complete the projects.
With development of Railways infrastructure, linkages will increase and the railways will prove to be of great help in the development of the state. She said while reviewing the rail projects in Jharkhand with Land Reforms and Revenue Department and Railways officers.
Mrs. Verma said that work is going on 8 projects of railways having total length of 694.63 km and land is being acquired for that. Out of this, land acquisition for almost 4 projects has been done.
She directed the DCs through video conferencing that the raiyats should be given compensation according to the new land acquisition provision and law and order situation should be ensured so that the projects could be completed.
She said that local people should be coordinated properly to help railways complete the project. The DCs should visit the project site and get first hand ideas of the problems. Social Impact Assessment Agencies should be act sensitively and promptly and submit the report in time.
Referring to Deoghar as an international religious shrine, the CS said that land acquisition should be done and transferred to Civil Aviation Department to construct an airport there.
She said that it will benefit the whole Santhal region and increase foreign tourists. The department said that 407.10 acres of land has been transferred to Civil Aviation Dept. out of the targeted 600.90 acres. This includes 262.08 acre rayyat land and 145.02 govt. land.
Finance and Institutional secretary Satyendra Singh, Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms secretary K. K. Son, Revenue Director Rajeev Ranjan and Railway officers were present on this occasion.
