DC reviews security of Civil Court and prisons

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Wednesday convened a meeting to review security of Jamshedpur Civil Court and prisons in the district.

The DC directed the officials concerned to make an assessment of requisite number of personnel needed to strengthen the security of the court and jail premises. He sought the current security status of the court and prisons and also demanded report on the use of Information Technology for security purpose.

Sources said the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand had recently discussed the issue of security of courts and prisons in the various districts of the state and proposed the formation of an additional battalion for this purpose. It was decided to form a district level committee headed by the DC in each of the districts. The committee, also proposed to have SSP and Jail Superintendent as members, would submit its report on security needs and prepare a plan accordingly by consulting technical experts.
