World Blood Donor Day celebrated, 70 organisations felicitated
Jamshedpur, June 14: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day on Thursday, 70 organisations associated with the blood donation were felicitated along with persons who have donated blood for the 100th or 50th time this year.
Chief Guest for the occasion Red Cross Society Chairman cum DC Amit Kumar, thanked the organistaions said that they along with the Red Cross have made blood donation a campaign not only in the city but also in the rural areas.
He praised the blood donation culture of Jamshedpur and said that corporates along with small organisations get involved in this noble cause with full sincerity.
Guest of Honour deputy general manager of Tata Motors Praveen Kaushal, said, Tata Motors has been associated with blood donation according to its tradition for a very long time. He further said Red Cross Society has created a positive atmosphere towards blood donation in Jamshedpur which was absent ten years back.
Tata Motors will continue to support Red Cross Society in this noble cause, Kaushal added. Secretary of the Red Cross Society Vijay Kumar Singh said that today 70 organisations and 3 people were felicitated. All the blood donors were awarded mementoes.
