Issues show-cause notice to DEO, DSE, rebukes warden, cook

Jamshedpur, Jan 18: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav paid a surprise visit to Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Sundernagar late Tuesday night. She expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of cleanliness at the campus and rebuked the warden and kitchen in-charge for poor maintenance of the school premises.

During the inspection, the DC found the night guard missing from his place. The kitchen and store room of the school were found to be in disorder and dirty. Utensils were lying unwashed and food was kept uncovered. Electricity was also being misused at the school campus. In view of her findings, the DC issued a show-cause notice to the District Education Officer (DEO) and District Superintendent of Education (DSE) seeking explanation for the sorry state of affairs at the school. She also directed the DEO to issue show-cause notice to the warden and kitchen in-charge of the school and take necessary action against them in case they fail to give a satisfactory reply, sources said.

After completing her inspection at KGBV, the DC went to Sadar Hospital, Khasmahal, around midnight and conducted surprise inspection. She expressed displeasure over lack of cleanliness, absence of outsourced staff and presence of relatives on beds of patients. She also demanded the duty roster which could not be produced. She directed the hospital officials to improve their performance within two days. She stayed at the hospital for one and a half hour and interacted with patients.

The DC was also accompanied by Dhalbhum SDO Piyush Sinha, DSE Nishu Kumari and executive magistrate Jyoti Kumari.
