Jamshedpur: The deputy commissioner (DC) and senior superintendent of police (SSP) of East Singhbhum offered ardhya to the Sun God at Sri Sri Mahakaleshwar Chhath Ghat in Jugsalai on Friday. The MP of Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato was also present on the occasion. DDC Suraj Kumar too, offered ardhya with his family. The DC participated in the puja with his family members. Members of the puja committee felicitated the MP, DC, SSP and DDC by giving them each shawl and bouquet on the occasion. Around 70,000 people offered ardhya at the Jugsalai ghat. Free snacks were given to the devotees by various organizations. Meanwhile, police saved a 60 year old devotee from drowning at the ghat.
Among those present during the puja included Vijay Singh Pappu, Vir Bahadur Singh, Rakesh Singh, Amar Singh, Santosh Dubey, Abhishek Tiwary, Rakesh Pandey and Nagendra Pandey.
