Jamshedpur: D.B.M.S. College of Education organized a one-day workshop focusing on the psychological and practical dimensions of inclusive classrooms. Soma Banerjee, Principal of D.B.M.S. Career Academy, led the session for B.Ed. trainee teachers, emphasizing that self-awareness remains a teacher’s most vital tool.
Banerjee explored Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems, explaining how a child’s environment shapes their development. She also addressed Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), teaching trainees to identify stress responses in children.
The interactive session included role-playing exercises where trainees depicted the challenges faced by children with special needs. Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita, alongside management members Shripriya Dharmarajan and Sudha Dilip, attended the event. Dr. Samarpita thanked Banerjee, noting that the workshop provided future teachers with essential skills to foster connection and empathy in diverse educational settings.
