DAV NIT celebrates Sanskrit Day with enthusiasm

Jamshedpur, Aug 27: DAV Public School, NIT Campus, celebrated Sanskrit Day with great fervour today. The morning assembly was conducted entirely in Sanskrit, creating a traditional and devotional atmosphere. Students presented bhajans, speeches and a quiz based on Sanskrit literature and culture, followed by Shloka and Mantra recitation competitions.

The program was inaugurated by Principal Rekha Kumari, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Addressing the students, she emphasized the timeless value of Sanskrit, calling it the “mother of Indian languages and a treasure of knowledge.” She added, “Sanskrit is not only a language of the past but also a guiding light for our future. Its preservation is our responsibility.”

Students also recited verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta and performed Swasti Vachan with great enthusiasm. Mantras were recited aloud by the participants, adding to the devotional ambiance.

In the competitions, Bhagat Singh Sadan secured first place in the Mantra Chanting category, followed by Mahatma Hansraj Sadan in second place, Swami Shraddhanand Sadan in third and Ram Prasad Bismil House in fourth. In the Bhagavad Geeta Folk Recitation, Ram Prasad Bismil House emerged first.

The event was coordinated by Sanskrit teacher Dharmaprakash Shastri and concluded with a Shanti Paath. Teachers, staff and students participated actively, making the celebration a memorable one.
