Jamshedpur, July 16: DAV Public School, Bistupur witnessed a landmark celebration in Rabindra Bhawan, Tagore Society, Sakchi on Saturday. The batch of 2016-17, specially 72 toppers who scored 90% and above in AISSCE, 37 AISSE toppers (10 CGPA), IIT-Advance (59), JEE Mains (115), CPT (II), and Medical (10) were felicitated while proud parents, friends and relatives watched from the sea of audience members who turned out for the event.
The function began with DAV Anthem and lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest for the function Bidyut Baran Mahato, MP, Jamshedpur. Guest of Honours Dr Anita Gupta, Ex-Principal Jamshedpur Women�s College, Mita Singhal, Vice Chairperson safe club (Spl. Member, LMC), Sushma Luthra, Sandeep Srivastav, Pragya Sinha, Principal DAV Public School, Bistupur and other dignitaries.
Pragya Singh in her address extended her warm welcome to those present and congratulated the super achievers for their remarkable accomplishments. Then the annual report for the session 2016-17 was presented by the Principal.
Post this, conferring of awards on the 72 AISSCE toppers for achieving academic excellence was done by the chief Guest. This captures the essence of nostalgia and fond memories for the students in his convocation address, the Chief Guest Bidyut Baran Mahato urged the students to make the world before them a better one by going into it with all boldness. He added that they are upto it and they are fit for it, they deserve it and if they make their best contribution, the world before them will become a bit more deserving of them.
A scintillating classic Indian opera �The hand of Cards� by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore based on the theme of freedom of thought and speaks was performed by the students. After the magical performance, qualities of JEE Advance, Medical, CPT were honoured by Guest of Honour Dr. Anita Gupta. In her address she encouraged the students for their days ahead and said that self discovery is key to success and advised them to keep a plan B in life as every failure is a stepping stone to success.
The JEE Main qualifiers were felicitated by Mita Singhal who in her address congratulated the super achievers and advised them to prosper the tree of curiosity within and to be passionate about life goals.
The dazzling day concluded with the western dance performance by the students of IX, XI and XII, followed by the vote of thanks proposed by Yash Verma, Head Boy followed by the national anthem.
