DAV Bistupur holds Nursery admission lottery

Jamshedpur, January 10: DAV Public School, Bistupur, conducted a manual lottery for Nursery admissions for the academic session 2026–27 on January 10. The process was carried out in the presence of members of the Local Managing Committee (LMC) and Rajesh Karmakar, who attended as the official observer representing the DSE/DEO office.

The school has a total of 120 seats in the Nursery section. Of these, 90 seats were allotted under the general category through the lottery, while 30 seats have been reserved for children belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, in accordance with government guidelines.

Several dignitaries were present during the lottery process, including Varun Bajaj, Chief–Corporate Services, Tata Steel Jamshedpur; Harjeet Singh, Advocate; Awashesh Kumar, LMC member and teacher representative; and parent representatives Nidhi Singh and Amit Khirwal. Parents of four applicants were also present to witness the proceedings.

Pragya Singh, ARO-cum-Principal of DAV Public School Bistupur, welcomed the guests and explained the manual lottery system adopted by the school. She said the school believes in maintaining transparency and ethical practices and therefore prefers a manual lottery over a digital process. She also highlighted the school’s commitment to providing a caring, activity-based and child-friendly learning environment.

The nursery lottery was conducted smoothly and transparently. As per directions received from the district administration, both the recorded video of the lottery and the final selection list will be uploaded on the school’s official website on January 17, 2026.

The programme was coordinated by Supervisory Head Sutapa Ghosh along with teachers Surbhi Sharma, Rinki Kumari and Chandrapriya. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Gibi Santosh.
