Men of Steel smash Sikkim Aakraman SC 10-0
Jamshedpur, Sept 19: Jamshedpur FC showcased their formidable prowess in the last pre-season friendly match as they emerged victorious with a commanding 10-0 win against Sikkim Aakraman SC at the Flatlets Training Ground in Jamshedpur.
Under the astute leadership of Scott Cooper, the Jamshedpur FC squad displayed their dominance right from the outset, leaving their opponents with no room to breathe.
To maximize player participation, this friendly was played in three periods of 45 minutes each, extending the game to a total of 135 minutes.
Jamshedpur FC’s Daniel Chima, making his first appearance this pre-season, delivered a stunning hat-trick with goals in the 12th, 21st, and 35th minutes.
Nongdamba Naorem contributed a fourth goal, granting the home team a comfortable four-goal lead at the conclusion of the initial period.
The second period witnessed Laldinpuia Pachuau (Dinpuia) finding the net in the 57th minute. Thongkhosiem Haokip, a recent addition to Jamshedpur’s roster, showcased his prowess with two goals in the 68th and 98th minutes, while Emil Benny added another in the 78th minute. This allowed the new signings to acclimate to the coach’s tactics and integrate seamlessly with their teammates on the field. The youngest player on the team, Mohammed Sanan, sealed the comprehensive victory with two additional goals, resulting in a final scoreline of 10-0.
This match served as an invaluable warm-up for Jamshedpur FC as they prepare for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 campaign, commencing on September 25. Their first challenge will be an away game against East Bengal in Kolkata.
