Jamshedpur: DANFIT International and California Television Global jointly organized the “Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti Baithaki” at the DANFIT International Studio in Kadma on Sunday, celebrating the birth anniversaries of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam through a cultural programme.
The event paid tribute to the two literary icons with an array of performances, including songs, poetry recitations, dance presentations, and musical renditions inspired by their works.
Guest artistes from Kolkata—Debleena Lahiri, Anshika Das, and Dharitri Sinha—added a special dimension to the evening with their performances.
Debleena Lahiri captivated the audience with her rendition of Prathama Adi Shiva Shakti, while Anshika Das presented Madhu Basant, a performance inspired by the compositions of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam. Dharitri Sinha impressed attendees with a dance presentation based on Nazrul’s songs and a powerful poetry recital.
Students of DANFIT International also won applause for their energetic dance performance on Mor Bina Othe, adding colour and artistic vibrancy to the programme.
Among the distinguished guests were Alokananda Roy, Indranil Bhaduri, Kishore Mishra, and Nilima Bhowmick. They praised the initiative for promoting and preserving art, literature, and culture.
Organizers said California Television Global is broadcasting highlights of the programme in 15 countries, helping showcase Indian art and cultural traditions to a wider international audience.
