Dance performances mark Teachers’ Day at Brahmanandam Shikshayatan

Jamshedpur, Sept. 5: Brahmanandam Shikshayatan celebrated its tenth annual function on the occasion of Teacher’s Day at Brahmolokdham in Kadma on September 5.

The institute which imparts lessons in Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Vocal Music, Tabla and Fine Arts hosted series of events to mark the day.

The day started with Ganesh Vandana by the students of Brahmanandam Shikshayatan followed by Odissi classical dance presented by Soument Kundu and troupe. Dancers performed Odissi which made for a memorable day.

The event also saw performances involving three guest artists from Kolkata. Dance features presented by the students of the school made the audience spell bound.
Subroto Pandit and troupe presented Kathak while Tanmay Sengupta staged Bharatnatyam. The dance performances by the group were heartily enjoyed by the audience.

Earlier, President of the institute, Monu Bhattacharya inaugurated the function in presence of Soma Bhattacharjee, Principal of Brahmanandam Shikshayatan.

Addressing the gathering, Monu said, “We have been celebrating Teacher’s Day (5th September) as annual day since 2009 and have felicitated stalwarts in the field of music and dance including the likes of Tiyali Mitter, Rita Mitra, Sonali Chhaterjee, Sandip Bose, Tapas Debnath and several others”. The cultural event concluded with prize distribution.
