Cyclone Michuang forces cancellation of Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express

Jamshedpur: In response to the looming threat of Cyclone Michuang in South India, Indian Railways has taken proactive measures, resulting in the cancellation of numerous trains.  Among the affected trains is the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Weekly Express, which failed to commence its journey on Thursday morning. The cancellation, initially a security measure, has been extended for both up and down routes until the 17th of December.

The South Eastern Railway has implemented widespread cancellations affecting several trains originating from stations in Jharkhand and Bengal, particularly those heading towards South India. This has created issues for patients and students traveling from Jamshedpur to destinations like Chennai or Kathpadi for medical treatment or educational purposes.

The lack of alternative train services has compounded the difficulties faced by passengers, leading to a surge in ticket cancellations since the 3rd of December. The ongoing disruption underscores the broader impact of Cyclone Michuang on railway operations and the inconvenience faced by those reliant on these services.
