Jamshedpur: In a significant development, the security forces discovered and demolished a Naxalite camp with accommodations for approximately 50 to 60 individuals in West Singhbhum. The recovery operation yielded various materials utilized in daily activities and the construction of the camp. The ongoing anti-Naxal operation continues to root out the menace in the region.
Top leaders of the banned Maoists, including Misir Besara, Anmol, Mochhu, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angriya, and Ashwin, along with their squad members, have been identified engaging in subversive activities in the Kolhan area. Responding to this imminent threat, a joint campaign team comprising Chaibasa Police, Cobra 209 SPC, 203 SPC, 205 SPC, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF teams (60 bn, 197 bn, 157 bn, 174 bn, 193 bn, 134 bn, 26 bn) has been formed to counter their activities.
The joint campaign, initiated on October 10, 2023, is actively ongoing in the villages of Kuida under Goilkera police station, encompassing areas like Chhota Kuida, Maradiri, Meralgada, Hathiburu, Tilaibreda Boyapaisang, Katamba, Bayahattu, Boroy, Lemsadih, and border areas and villages under Tonta police station, including Husipi, Rajabasa, Tumbahaka, Regada, Patatorab, Goburu, and Luiya.
Specific information about the presence of central committee members Misir Besra, Patiram Manjhi alias Anal alias Ramesh, and Asim Mandal in the Saranda area led to the initiation of a joint operation between Chotanagra police station and Jaraikela from December 5, 2023. The operation, concentrated in the forest area bordering the police stations, resulted in an encounter on December 6, 2023, between Naxalite militants and security forces. The Naxalites, outnumbered by the security forces, took refuge in the forests and mountains, managing to escape.
