Jamshedpur, June 28: Cyber criminals duped Bhalubasa resident Sharmila Chakraborty of Rs 1,02,480 on the pretext of helping her in doing know your customer profile.
The woman who resides under Sitaramdera thana has in her complaint with the Bistupur cyber thana states that on June 26 a message came on her mobile warning that outgoing and incoming calls would be stopped on her BSNL mobile as she has failed to update her know your customer status.
There were two numbers 6295518332 and 6202253785 given as BSNL customer care numbers. When the woman called on these numbers the receiver identified as BSNL official and asked her to download QR Quick Support app from Google play store and gradually as she followed their directions after logging in her netbank on mobile they withdrew Rs 1,02,480 from her account.
Similar incident had happened in Birsanagar when a woman was duped of Rs 70,000 on the pretext of updating Know Your Customer status on mobile.
