Jamshedpur, Dec 5: In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering citizens through social service initiatives, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd and the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). The signing ceremony took place at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi, marking a significant step toward increasing participation in social security schemes across India.

This strategic collaboration aims to empower both traders and citizens by facilitating their registration under various welfare programs, including the National Pension System (NPS), Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Scheme, Lakhpati Didi & Digi Sakhi Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, among others. As part of the initiative, CSC SPV will organize dedicated camps in partnership with CAIT to connect traders and citizens directly with these schemes.

CSC SPV, a key player in the Digital India Mission, operates nearly 6 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) nationwide. These centres serve as critical access points for government schemes, especially in remote areas, ensuring digital and financial inclusion. CAIT, representing over 9 crore traders across 48,000 trade federations and associations, is committed to the welfare and growth of India’s trading community. This partnership is in line with CAIT’s goal of providing comprehensive social and financial security to traders, further supporting their economic contributions.

On this occasion, CAIT National President B C Bhartia and Secretary General, Praveen Khandelwal, MP from Chandni Chowk, highlighted the importance of the MoU in addressing the challenges faced by small traders in accessing government welfare schemes. “This partnership ensures that essential schemes like pensions and entrepreneurial support reach every corner of the country, especially grassroots traders,” they said.

CAIT National Joint General Secretary Suresh Sonthalia emphasized the transformative impact of this initiative, stating, “With the extensive digital infrastructure of CSC and CAIT’s vast network, this collaboration not only secures the financial future of millions but also fosters a socially empowered and inclusive trading community.”

Sanjay Rakesh, Managing Director and CEO of CSC e-Governance, expressed his commitment to empowering local communities through CSCs. “Our mission is to transform lives in remote areas by enabling access to government services,” he said, reinforcing the role of CSC in advancing social empowerment.

The MoU signing event was attended by senior officials from CSC SPV, representatives from CAIT, and other dignitaries, all underscoring their shared vision of uplifting India’s trading community through technology-driven initiatives.
