Jharkhand: Three dead, two injured in Gumla road accident

Gumla, Dec 5: A tragic road accident occurred late on Wednesday night near Basia in Gumla district, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuring two others. The victims, all residents of Ranchi, were returning from a wedding in Simdega when their car collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. The crash was so severe that the car was completely shattered, leaving the passengers trapped inside.

According to police reports, the car was heading toward Ranchi when it collided with a truck moving toward Gumla near Basia Police Station. After the collision, local residents and police officials struggled for over an hour to extract the victims from the wreckage. Despite their best efforts, three individuals were confirmed dead: Pawan Kumar Sahu (45), Ratan Ghosh (50), and Praveen Ram (55), all from the Sukhdev Nagar police station area of Ranchi.

The injured, Vishwanath Gop (42) and Asim Gop (53), were transported to Ranchi’s RIMS hospital. Their condition is critical, and doctors are closely monitoring their progress. The truck driver, however, fled the scene following the incident, and efforts are underway to trace him.
