Criminals loot chain, injure woman at Sakchi

Jamshedpur, Oct. 27: Unidentified looters robbed a gold chain and a bag from the mother of a BJP member Vikas Singh at Sakchi on Thursday.

They injured the victim with blades while committing the crime, sources said.

An FIR was lodged by Vikas Singh with the Sakchi PS in this connection. The victim was taken to hospital for first aid, sources said.

Sources said the incident occurred near Masala Patti at Sakchi in the evening when Vikas�s mother was shopping for Dhanteras and Deepawali.

Just then, few youths approached the elderly woman and attacked her with blades. Before the victim could raise an alarm, the culprits snatched her gold chain and bag and escaped.

Police officials said an investigation was on to identify and arrest the culprits. They said local gangs could be involved in the incident.

Local BJP leaders condemned the incident and demanded beefing up of security around public places.
