Jamshedpur, Aug 8: Preparations for this year’s grand Durga Puja in Bagbera Colony Road No. 4 began on Friday with a ceremonial bhoomi pujan for the pandal. The Sri Sri Sarvajanik Durga Puja Committee announced that this year’s theme will replicate Indralok, the mythical abode of gods, promising a spectacular visual treat for devotees.

District Councillor Dr. Kavita Parmar, Colony Head Rajkumar Gond, Panchayat Samiti member Jharna Mishra and social worker Madhu Pandey jointly performed the rituals. The Baghbera Housing Colony pandal is counted among Jamshedpur’s best, known for its artistic grandeur. Committee President Ansul Kumar, along with licensee Rajesh Singh and other members including Satish Kumar, Chintu Singh and Shweta Tiwari, pledged to make the celebration a success.

The organisers confirmed that a magnificent idol of Goddess Durga will be installed, with elaborate decorations to match the celestial theme. Large crowds are expected during the festival. w/nkm)
