Cops seize 105 kilogram marijuana, arrest two

Jamshedpur: City police arrested two persons with 105 kilograms of marijuana near Kharkai bridge late Sunday night.

They recovered a box containing a heavy packet from a jeep during a checking drive.

Senior superintendent of police, East Singhbhum, Amol Venukant Homkar, said the accused persons, identified as Firoz Khan and Lalbabu Kumar, were carrying the marijuana all the way from Rairangpur to Ramgarh via Jamshedpur.

Police had got a tip-off about the accused persons. Cops are searching for the aides of the arrested duo who gave him the consignment.

One Shankar Dada of Rairangpur reportedly gave the consignment to Firoz and Lalbabu. The total cost of the seized marijuana could be in several lakhs, the SSP said.

An FIR was lodged against the accused persons by Bistupur police.
