Jamshedpur: For a change, a police officer was fined on Tuesday for not wearing helmet. The rare initiative was taken by the SP City Prabhat Kumar who happened to pass by the main road in front of the Jamshedpur Collectorate.
The SP noticed that ASI R Sharma of Bistupur PS was riding a motorcycle without helmet on his way near Jubilee Park gate. Taking serious view of a uniformed police officer not wearing helmet, he stopped the bike and took the ASI to task. The SP asked the traffic cops to impose fine on the erring cop.
Sharma was called at Bistupur PS where he had to pay a fine of Rs 300, sources said.
