Jamshedpur: Motilal Nehru Public School organised its 25th annual sports day at Bodhi Temple ground in Jamshedpur on Tuesday. Chief Guest for the occasion was Colonel Neeraj Kumar, commanding officer 324, field regiment, Sonari.
The chief guest declared the meet open after the national anthem. This was followed by March past. In his speech, Neeraj Kumar urged the students to get involved in sporting activities for a healthy mind and body. Total of 2300 students participated in series of sporting events. Green House with 343 points bagged the winner’s trophy, Yellow House with 297 points ended as the runner-up. Best March Past Trophy was also bagged by Yellow House.
Best Athlete in Sub-Junior boys was Saurav Samad while Sanchita Sinha won in the Sub-Junior girls’ category.
In Junior Boys Rohit Kumar, in junior girls Anushka Srivastava. In senior boys Rasid Hussain was the winner while Riya Raj Jha won in the senior girls category.
Om Shreshtha Mandal of class 12 B and Shefta Aeram won in the Plus 2 category.
Events for the staff of the school were also held where Chaitali Mandal, Swaraj and Ajit Kumar were crowned first. Gargi Shah, SM Swain and Akhilesh Shukla were second while Shudha Singh, Ashok Sharma and CP Pandey were crowned the third spot.
Chief Guest Neeraj Kumar felicitated the winners at the end of the programme.
