IWC celebrates 10 years of Jagriti Centre

Jamshedpur: Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Jamshedpur celebrated 10 years of Jagriti Centre with child friendly look and winter workshop �Santa�s Workshop� on Tuesday. At the event seven-day winter camp was also inaugurated.

Aruna Taneja, Past President and Inner Wheel District Literacy Chair, inaugurated the Centre with cutting of Ribbon in the presence of members, children and guests.
Club President Alakananda Bakshi welcomed members and guests of other Inner Wheel Clubs.

Sudha Sabberwal shared her experiences of running Jagriti Centre for last ten years.

Taneja went back to old days and described how the centre came into existence. The quarter was given by Tata Steel and after renovation; it started as grooming centre for small children staying in and around Kadma area. Children, studying in Govt and NGO run schools, started coming here for evening class free of cost.
She thanked members and Sudha for taking the school forward and introducing new things like singing, dancing Etc. This year, self defence class also been introduced. Time to time vocational workshops are also organised for mothers and ladies residing in the area.

A cake was cut to commemorate the occasion. Sweaters were gifted to all children. Walls were decorated with educational art, new swing was installed. Plantation was also done. Jyoti Agarwal was inducted as new member by Aruna Taneja. Weeklong camp will be organised in evening and finale will be held on 19th December as fun time with Santa.

Preeti Sehgal, Chief of CSR, Jusco, will grace the finale as chief guest.
Sudha Sabberwal taught children drift wood art on the first day of workshop.
Children thanked Inner Wheel Club Members for all the facilities and fresh look Jagriti.
