Jamshedpur, July 14: The convocation ceremony of Tagore School of Arts, a flagship initiative of Tagore Society, was held at Rabindra Bhavan to honor diploma holders in various art disciplines for the academic year 2023-24. The event celebrated young artists who had completed diplomas in Fine Arts, Decorative Arts and Crafts, and a three-year Postgraduate Diploma.
The program began with a welcome song performed by the students, setting the artistic tone for the evening. Dr. H.S. Pal, President of Tagore Society, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the critical role of artists in shaping the future. He emphasized that true success in art lay not only in personal mastery but in passing on that knowledge to future generations.
Renowned artist and researcher Samit Das, an alumnus of Tagore School of Arts, graced the occasion as chief guest. In his convocation address, he fondly recalled his journey as a student of the institution and credited his teachers and training for shaping his artistic identity. He expressed immense pride in receiving recognition from the very institution that nurtured his talent, calling it a milestone in his life.
Das presented awards and diplomas to all graduating students and encouraged them to pursue excellence and uphold the values of creativity and dedication in their artistic endeavors.
Ashis Chowdhury, General Secretary of Tagore Society, also addressed the gathering. He urged students to win the hearts of people with the power of art and said that art was a universal language that united the world. He encouraged graduates to live up to the noble objectives of art in their future pursuits.
Tagore School of Arts Principal Chandana Choudhury was present at the event along with other dignitaries, adding grace to the celebration of artistic achievement and legacy.
