Ranchi, July 14: Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, marked its 71st Foundation Day on July 14, 2025, with a vibrant cultural celebration held at the CAT Hall. The event began at 5 PM with the traditional Institute Prayer and was attended by faculty, students, and distinguished alumni.
Vice Chancellor Professor Indranil Manna welcomed the guests and extended warm greetings, setting the tone for the evening. Several alumni were present, adding a nostalgic charm to the celebration. The program featured a variety of cultural performances aimed at honouring the institution’s rich legacy.
Renowned sitar maestro Devpriya Thakur mesmerized the audience with his soulful music and was felicitated with a memento as a token of appreciation. Following this, Shyamanand Jha captivated the gathering with a heartfelt ghazal recital, blending melody with poetic depth. He too was honoured on stage.
A graceful Kathak performance enthralled the audience, showcasing classical Indian dance traditions. The performers were greeted with enthusiastic applause and presented with mementos. Musician Mrinal Pathak delivered a powerful musical finale, earning admiration from all present.
The evening concluded with a vote of thanks by the Associate Dean, Alumni and International Relations, at 7:30 PM, bringing the memorable and culturally rich celebration to a close.
