Controversy over yellow beacon

Chandil: A controversy has arisen in Chandil with several political parties raising question over the alleged use of yellow beacon in the vehicle of Chandil SDO Manjunath Bhajantri.

A local resident Sharat Chandra Sardar had sought information from the district transport officer under the Right to Information Act regarding provisions regarding the use of yellow beacons.

As per the reply, sub divisional officers cannot use yellow beacons atop their vehicles, Sardar said. He said the government officials should not be allowed to install yellow or red beacons in their vehicles.
